5: Hayner Academy Barnstormers

The Hayner Academy Barnstormers, out of the Hayner Sports Barn in Halfmoon NY, are our #5 ranked team in the 19u division for 2017. The Barnstormers were led by Head Coach Ken Hayner, who brought an extremely talented team into the 2017 Colonial Clash in Westchester, and walked away with the Championship in one of the better games of the summer versus the Connecticut Moose. The roster was headlined by 5 Division 1 Commits, including Carson Dunkel (Siena), Evan St.Claire (Siena), Anthony Germinerio (Albany), Joseph Novenche (Canisius), and David Yankowski (Canisius). Jack Kelleher was named Tournament MVP for his great play at Shortstop and the #2 hole in the lineup.

4: Rockland (NY) Pirates Post 130

The Rockland Post 130 Pirates out of New York are your number 4 ranked team in the Firecracker 2017 19u Rankings. The Pirates once again showed strong at one of our events, finishing in the top 4 of the 36 team 19U field.

3: Team Cape Cod

Perennial 4th of July Contender Team Cape Cod would finish the year 3rd in our 2017 Rankings. Head Coach Dan Proto brought another strong team into the Semifinal Round of the 4th of July Showcase. College Commitments are not unusual for this team, and the 2017 edition included Ryan Proto (UMASS Lowell), David Nichols (UMASS Dartmouth), and Jake Morris (Massasoit). Team Cape Cod used their run in the Showcase to later on in the summer advance to the National Finals of the Senior Babe Ruth World Series out in Washington State.

2: CT Capitals

The CT Capitals are your #2 team in the 2017 19U Firecracker Baseball Rankings. The Capitals strong showing in the 4th of July Showcase (6 wins and 10 runs allowed) included a trip to the Championship Game. The Capitals roster featured several college commitments, including Josh Gurnack (Eastern Connecticut State), Jordan Laske (URI), and Zachary Player (Franklin Pierce). The Capitals were coached by Joey Serfass, assistant coach George Serfass.

1: Flemington Post 159

What can you say about Flemington?! They left the 2017 4th of July Showcase with their 4th Firecracker 4th of July Showcase Title, going 7-0 along the way. They defeated the CT Capitals in the Chamipionship. In their 6 all-time 4th of July Appearances, Flemington is 29-5 (.853 win percentage), and 4 Championships. 2018 The College of New Jersey Commit Grant Sible, with 2 home runs in the Championship Game, was name Tournament MVP for the 2017 4th of July Showcase Tournament. Post 159 featured many college commits on their 2017 roster, including Dylan McNulty (Rutgers), Jeff Guile (Catholic University), Matt Busher (Old Dominion), Ryan Koep (Rowan), and Tournament MVP Grant Sible (The College of New Jersey).
